Peace and was located at 5 Pukuatua Street. It is possible that this became the Tremayne Guest House in 1909. The Denbies Guest House was originally a private home possibly next door or on the same site. The Denbies was owned by Mrs Coral Williamson and was owned and managed by her from ca.1930-1957. Other owner/managers were Mr and Mrs W. Young ca.1964-1972 and Ivan and Doreen Burr ca.1973-1975. The building was sold to the Police Department ca.1976 and used for the police detectives office until ca.1993. It was either demolished or moved off the site which now has the new police building on it.SourcesStafford, Donald Murray (1987). Don Stafford File, Hotels V1. Don Stafford.
